We have a fantastic new vacancy for Food & Beverage Assistant at an exquisite hotel based in Leicestershire.
Objective of the Role Reporting to the Food & Beverage Supervisor, the F&B Assistant will provide a friendly and efficient service to the hotel guests.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Regular guests are known and greeted accordingly using their name.
• Ensure a good working knowledge of food and wine. Be able to make recommendations.
• Be friendly, courteous and professional at all times.
• Up-sell and maximise sales revenue whenever and wherever possible. Requirements:
• Previous hotel experience in a 3/4 star hotel property is desired but not essential.
• Previous experience in a high volume/ fast paced environment.
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
To participate in the preparation, set up and service of the food and bar service areas. Ensuring you provide a high level of efficiency whilst maintaining and improving the standard and quality of service.
Key responsibilities and Tasks
Read and understand the daily business sheet, checking with the supervisor or duty manager for any additional details.
Taking and processing drinks and food orders.
Preparing hot and cold drinks.
To be aware of daily basics, daily specials, soups, drinks,
Be knowledge of all menu items, their garnish, contents and preparation methods.Be prepared to answer any guest questions about the menu in a courteous way.
Ensure the areas you are responsible for are adequately stocked and appropriately available to meet customers’ needs and requirements.
Ensure the areas of responsibility are kept presentable and tidy.
Collect and sign for the float and keys from Reception, entering the cash float on the Float Record Sheet before putting it into till.
To ensure all monies are handled correctly and ensuring that all room/main accounts charges are signed for.
Ensure that all equipment is correctly cleaned and turned off at the end of the shift ensuring that equipment is in working order.
At the end of the day ensure that the area you have been responsible for is closed down and cleaned in accordance with the closing down procedure including the hoovering.
Ensure that when the bar areas are not in use they are securely locked and keys are handed to Reception.
Ensure all tables in the Restaurant and Banqueting Areas are laid as per standard.
During Breakfast shifts ensure that the hot and cold buffet is set out and stocked up throughout service.
To be polite, helpful and maintain a positive attitude of communication to Guests, Residents, Members and Colleagues at all times.
